Have spent hours researching landscaping and garden design on the internet recently and your site has just BLOWN me away!! Your design notes in particular are brilliant, articulate, and truly deal with the underlying principles of good design. I am eager to read more of them and echo the opinion of others who have expressed interest in you producing a book. Your reflections and instructions on gardening, sustainability, and personal/domestic environments are both soulful and logical; a much needed combination of traits in this day and age of consumerism, quick fixes and "must-have" seasonal styles.
Thank you for sharing your gifts so generously and for inspiring us to do our best to be part of finding creative solutions for our local communities and for our common home, Earth.

I'm currently studying Garden Design at Hadlow college in Kent, and have just spent most of the afternoon looking through your great website as we are doing a couple of modules on ecology and sustainable landscape design.
Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with the rest of us!

Thankyou very much for your news letter. I stumbled upon your site by accident when looking for inspiration for revamping the garden. I'm not planning anything major until summer next year and judging by your newsletter so far i shall have many good ideas to throw around. Keep them coming.

Mark, I love your work and thought Id voice my appreciation as a fellow, and somewhat less experienced garden designer.

Just to let you know I find your website and newsletter both interesting and informative. There is always a gap in one's knowledge and I find your articles and notes very helpful. I admire the fact that you find time to do it but please keep it up.

I found your site whilst looking for inspiration as we have a large area to hopefully transform. The site has been very informative, easy to read and has given me a few ideas which I will nurture over the coming months and hopefully see through to fruition in the not too distant future. Thank you for providing such a valuable site. I look forward to calling back from time to time as our project progresses, especially when imagination is lacking! Keep up the good work!

Hi - desperately looking for garden design ideas I came across your web-site and I just had to write to say I thought it wonderfully well organised - really good design at work and your garden designs, although different, obviously reflect your underlying ethic . Also was impressed with your articles on sustainability.
Keep up the good work.

One of the main reasons I found your web site so interesting and relevant was that I am an instructor of landscape design at Niagara College and the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture - both here in the Niagara Peninsula. It has been very difficult to find a good text book for the students, and the information on your site was so applicable to many of the projects we have done. I mentioned the site to the class and made reference to many of the patterns in their most recent project.
Have you considered writing more than just an article - maybe a small book or brochure with these up-to-date patterns. Your article is much easier to understand ... ...and your photos and graphics great.

Can I just say what an awesome site. I have just stumbled upon your site and was captivated by the design notes and articles. When I read that you were going to focus on writing for 2004 all I can say is “go for it”.
Your web articles are simply terrific- among the best I have read in a long time. Your writing style and the holistic approach to the design is quite unique. A pleasure to read and I am left with a thirst for more. So please consider a book or two!

Just come across your website whilst looking into installing some lighting in my garden. Its one of the easiest sites to use, with information in a clear and concise format. It seems to be more a labour of love than a site designed to sell services!!

Hello I am a first year National Certificate in Horticulture student. My current Unit is Graphic Design and I am reading all I can on design principles.
The principles listed on your site have been very helpful. I was dissapointed when I had come to the end. Get writing!!!!
I found the text easy to read and understand, I only wish there was more. The accompaning photographs made all the difference.
Please keep writing and I look forward to reading your complete works one day.

Just found your site, and I must say how impressed I am with it.
I run a `Hard Landscape Business, P-JAYS LTD, and was completely won over with all the advice you offer. I have been in the Building trade for nearly 30years, and that old saying of "you are never to old to learn", certainly rings through here. I carry out very `amateur-ish` designs, relying on experience to get me through, but now armed with your knowledge, I `have no barriers!`. You are definitely on the `add to favourites list`.
Many thanks, can we have more on pond/stream designs.
Michael Tuffs (Director, P-JAYS LTD)
